There was a further qualifying session for Sunday’s 25-minute races, with Walley lining up in seventh position after clocking 1:55.691 for the 2.9-mile circuit.

The opening race featured 31 cars and overtaking was prevalent, with Walley moving up one place at the finish and also claiming a class first.

He matched his achievement in race two despite his tyres going off due to the red-hot track temperature and heads to Silverstone in August with a slim advantage at the top of the driver standings in not only the GTB standings, but also the overall championship.
