Sedgwick and Ginetta build towards an exciting 2014
However, before the Ginetta Junior Scholarship winner can start racing the 120mph car, he first had to pass his racing driving test.
Unlike most young drivers, the car Sedgwick had to take his first test in was a 165mph Porsche Cayman sports car and the location was the UK’s fastest race circuit, Thruxton in Hampshire.

“I have always been interested in cars and getting the chance to drive a Porsche on a circuit even before I am old enough to drive on the road was amazing,” said Sedgwick.
After the practical, the next step was to sit a written exam to test his racing circuit and safety knowledge. Passing both parts of the test with flying colours resulted in the 14-year-old receiving his Junior Racing Licence.
Sedgwick then ventured to the factory in Garforth, near Leeds, where Ginetta have been hand-building race and road cars for more than 55 years.

“The majority of parts for my race car are fabricated and assembled at the Ginetta factory and it was fascinating to see all the attention to detail and work that goes into creating each car,” he said.
