League-winning Bears chasing a trophy double at Victoria Park
Warwickshire have a chance to add the Balcolm Trophy (county two fours) when they take on Lancashire in the semi-final at Victoria Park on Sunday (9.30am).
The winners will face Hampshire or Huntingdonshire in the final on Sunday afternoon.

Hide AdMeanwhile, Avenue’s Matt Wordingham suffered a first-round exit in the juniors singles at the Bowls England National Championships.
Wordingham went down 21-12 to M Street from Knaphill in Surrey.
The annual mixed triples gala at Avenue BC attracted 12 teams, with victory going to Andy Smith, Hannah Smith and Lynn Houghton.
Mick Preedy, Chris Barton and Stewart Barton were runners-up.

Hide AdThe event was supported with sponsorship from Avon Valley Indoor Bowls Club who are working with outdoor clubs to increase the number of people playing bowls, both indoors and outdoors.
The indoor season starts at Avon Valley next month and anyone new to indoor bowls is welcome to go down to their Wednesday evening sessions (7pm) which start on October 1.

WCC Staff suffered a 19-shot defeat in a four-rink mixed friendly triples at Warwick Boat Club.

John Fielden (15-11), Graham Ambrose (14-8) and Richard Lee (20-4) recorded Boat Club’s wins.

A heavy thunderstorm and poor light curtailed Royal Leamington Spa ladies’ triples match at Whitnash with the visitors holding a commanding 44-20 lead.

Hide AdSpa were ahead in all three rinks, with Donna Kerr 15-2 up, Vi Palmer leading 15-5 and Wyn Jackson a shot clear of Mary Davis.
Poor light also meant an early end to Spa’s home clash with Southam, who led 65-49 when play was brought to a close.
C Wrote (26-3) claimed the highest winning rink.
Lillington’s men suffered a 103-82 defeat at home to Bidford in a six-rink friendly.
Tony Richards (17-15) claimed Lillington’s only rink win, with Malcolm Welch drawing his encounter 16-16.
