Hannon and Dobbs are in majestic form as they complete a Ladies’ Day double
There was a dramatic start to the afternoon when, in the opening The Fiat 500 World’s Best Ride Selling Stakes for three-year-olds, Youmaysee collided with the running rail after a couple of furlongs, depositing her apprentice jockey Daniel Cremin on the turf.
In the betting ring, Hannon’s Azelle had just shaded Curl for favouritism and she looked to have every chance when tracking the leader Jomari into the home straight.

Fair Ranger was an uneasy favourite in the second, a seven-furlong novice event for juveniles but, with four races already behind him, he had the experience and form to beat his three rivals.
Although headed by Brazos inside the last furlong, he fought back to snatch the spoils by a neck and provide Hannon and Dobbs with quick compensation for Azelle’s defeat.
They then doubled up in the following The Midshire Business Systems Classic Maiden Stakes with Majesty, who led all the way to readily hold Shaishee’s challenge in the last two furlongs.

The field was reduced to five when Ziggy’s Secret unseated Luke Morris coming out of the stalls and the loose horse set a good pace to the rest, headed by Roland.
This gave Patrick Hills aboard Red Explorer the chance to tuck in and play a waiting game, which the pair did to some effect, coming home three lengths clear of Gift Of Music.
Belle Bayardo went off the 2-1 favourite in The Nick Bill Memorial Handicap, but he could only finish fourth behind Sole Danser, who prevailed by a neck from top-weight Storm Lightening.

Liam Jones kicked her clear coming around the home turn and they looked to have stolen a winning lead but Miss Tiger Lily was run out of it close home by Chapter Five, who prevailed by a short head.
On Stage, trained in Devon by Stuart Kittow took the concluding apprentice handicap.
