Racing Club miss the chance to clip wings of high-flying Griff
An end-to-end game provided little respite for both defences, with Racers’ profligacy in front of goal once again costing them.
Ryan Langmead pounced on a goalkeeping error to put Racers 1-0 up, with Griff replying through Alex Naughton after good work on the left.

Hide AdThe hosts restored their lead straight from a Nuneaton corner, with Tez Morton completing the breakaway with an assured finish into the bottom corner to make amends for a string of earlier misses.
The game remained open and Griff were back level before the break when Joshua Ruff converted from a free-kick.
The second half saw Griff pile the pressure on, with Warwick continuing to look dangerous on the break.
Ryan Bennett was called on to make a fine save to prevent the visitors scoring a third, but from the resulting corner Corey Faulconbridge headed Griff in front.

Hide AdWith half an hour still left to play, it was now Racing Club’s turn to dominate possession, with Griff content to play on the counter.
However, a lack of composure in the final third and the failure of the referee to give a penalty when James Dyke appeared to be taken out inside the box left Racers frustrated at the final whistle.
Racers are in cup action tomorrow when they entertain Whitnash Town in the second round of the Coventry Charity Cup (1.45pm).
