The club’s first medal came in the boys’ under-ten event where Vernon Aun took bronze but it was in the boys’ under-12 category that Alveston dominated.

Three of the four semi-finalists play at the club’s North Leamington session and even the fourth was a former attendee.

This was an extremely tight event with all three medal winners dropping just one game each and standings decided on points scored, Voges edging out third-placed Kiri Chohan (Coventry) by just a point.

Sam Christopherson was unable to match his sister’s earlier achievement, settling for silver in the boys’ under-14 event after going down 22-20 in the final to Activ Sport’s Nathan Aldulami.

The final age group of the day saw two more medals for Alveston in the under-16s’.

The boys’ event was a tight affair with another three-way tie decided on game points, with James Scott missing out on gold by a point to Ravi Bodalia from Virgin Active.
