Hollingsworth to experience second World Cup

The Leamington all-rounder joins Warwickshire team-mate Luke Sugg in England’s 17-man squad for the tournament in South Africa, where the Three Lions will be looking to claim their first ever World Cup title.

England kick off their campaign against Sri Lanka on November 27 and Hunter has tipped 17-year-old Hollingsworth to play a crucial role in shaping their future.

“Justin is a very young player and one that will hopefully be around the team for a very long time,” he said.

“It’s exciting to have young players like him in the set-up. We have a great mix of ages and he brings youth to that.

“But despite his age he has a lot of experience and went to his first World Cup two years ago in India.

“So he’s not a guy who will be daunted by the experience or shrink from it.

“He will know what to expect and will go out there with a serious head on and will be looking to do well.

“I think the experience he has already got of playing a World Cup will help him no end and I could see him going out there and having a really impressive tournament.”

The eight-team tournament, which also features Australia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and West Indies, runs until December 8.
