Bowling Green for go

Warwick Bears, who kicked off the new Leamington & District League campaign with a 7-1 thrashing of their second team, face a fresh challenge this season as they look to retain their title.

Bowling Green are making their first venture into ladies’ (levels) badminton having already established two mixed teams.

Fixtures secretary Carol Gray says the first season will be a learning curve for Bowling Green, but believes the women will come on for the experience.

“I think playing levels will help to develop the strength of the ladies at Bowling Green in terms of movement and power,” she said.

The new side opened up on Tuesday night with a 7-1 loss to Shipston.
