Warwickshire police dog awarded medal for ten years’ of successful service

A crime-fighting police dog certainly earned his keep – during his 10-year service he has sniffed out drugs with an estimated street value of £4.5 million, found £650,000 in banknotes and uncovered five guns and ammo.

Jake was also responsible for delaying a headlining band from appearing at a major international music festival because he searched the tour bus at a motorway service station and found £2,000 worth of well-concealed cannabis.

Now retired, the springer spaniel lives with his handler PC Andy Crouch, and was awarded a medal to wear on his collar for his service at a police awards ceremony attended by Ron Ball (pictured right), Warwickshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
