The charity is hoping that this year’s nationwide event will be the biggest ever.

It wants more than 2,000 coffee mornings to take place across Warwickshire to reach or even surpass the target.

Across the UK, Macmillan hopes to raise over £15 million to beat last year’s total.

Macmillan’s fundraising manager for Warwickshire Camilla Wood said: “We want to make sure no one has to face cancer alone but we can’t do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us.

“Last year we raised a record-breaking amount of money form the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and we really hope we can repeat that again this year.

“We’re asking people to once again invite their friends, relatives or workmates to come for coffee and help support Macmillan.

“It’s a fun and easy way to raise money to help Macmillan or be there for people with cancer and their families when they need us most.”

The official event day is Friday September 27 but coffee mornings can be held any time.
