Warwickshire care group chief exec gets stuck into laundry
Sixty hours of gruelling laundry work is no mean feat - but Christine Asbury, chief executive of the Warwickshire care group WCS, got out of her office and completed the challenge, as well as frontline care and kitchen duties, at Sycamore’s care home in Sydenham, which is run by the charity.
She said: “There’s no better way to understand how our services work for people in our homes. Spending so much time in our laundries has let me see for myself the challenges of making sure that clothes are washed and returned to the right person in the proper condition.
“By listening to residents and staff and seeing the challenges they face, I feel better equipped to make decisions that benefit everyone.”
