Warwick Victorian Evening will be ‘bigger and better’ than ever

BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Radio will be hosting the entertainment on stage in Market Place where Father Christmas joins the Mayor of Warwick to switch the town’s Christmas lights on at 7pm.

There will be a procession through the town and a bumper yuletide market with craft, charity and festive food stalls.

Children and adults alike can enjoy a traditional carousel, ferret racing, a traction engine, fire spinners and rides.

There will also be some unusual Victorian characters in the crowd this year.

Stall holders will also don Victorian attire.

Nicki Curwood, town development officer for Warwick said, “Our Victorian Christmas is a firm favourite in the town; it’s always a busy event with a great atmosphere.

“This year will be even bigger and better to celebrate Warwick’s 1,100th anniversary and we want more people to get involved and come along in Victorian costume, they will have the chance to win a meal for two at the Rose and Crown or an annual pass for Warwick Racecourse.”
