Warwick Hospital solar panel plan is progressing

PLANS to have solar panels installed on the roof of Warwick Hospital and Stratford Hospital are moving forward.

Community Energy Warwickshire, a co-operative group set up to invest in renewable energy and help people in the county to save money by reducing their energy use, has selected Kidderminster-based solar power specialists Eco2Solar to design and install the systems.

“Following a detailed review of the proposals put forward by firms invited to tender, we concluded that Eco2Solar offered the right balance of experience and cost effectiveness for this innovative scheme.”

The task of raising the £180,000 cost of the project will start with the launch of a community share offer.

By buying shares, investors will become members of Community Energy Warwickshire and have the opportunity to play an active role in the community venture.

The solar panels project is expected to be completed by the end of March next year.
