Warwick enjoys some old fashioned fun

WARWICK was full to the rafters last week, with the Victorian Evening and Christmas lights switch on drawing hundreds into the town.

The annual event grows in popularity every year, but reached new heights this year, with crowds crammed into Market Place and the surrounding streets.

Chairwoman of the Warwick Chamber of Trade Sue Butcher said: “It was a fantastic evening.

“The weather helped, it didn’t rain and wasn’t too cold so it couldn’t have been better.”

There was a packed programme of entertainment on the stage in Market Place where Father Christmas helped mayor of Warwick Cllr Trudy Offer to switch on the town’s Christmas lights.
