A dad from Hatton Park who has run seven marathons on a giant hamster wheel and pushed a sprout up Mt Snowden has now cycled 25 miles on a penny farthing for charity.

Stuart Kettell, who was sporting his best Christmas jumper during the cycle from Hatton Park to Stratford and back, completed his latest challenge as part of ITV’s Text Santa appeal, which is raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support,

Make-A-Wish® UK and Save the Children.

The 51-year-old has now raised around £50,000 for charity over the past ten years. He began fundraising for Macmillan after one of his school friends died from cancer.

He said: “I’m not one to do things by halves, so I knew I’d have to do a crazy challenge and riding through town on a festive penny farthing is one way to do that! I hope to inspire other people to take part in Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day and raise vital funds for families in difficulty at Christmas.”

The appeal is inviting people to wear a Christmas jumper on Friday December 18 and making a donation. To register and find out more, visit itv.com/textsanta
