Update: Gaydon landfill site blaze contained

Crews were called out to the site in Banbury Road at about 12.30am last night.

Agricultural vehicles were used to move unburnt refuse away from the blaze in which 300 tonnes of household waste was alight.

The fire, on open land at the site, also involved a van, a loading shovel and a diesel tank.

The blaze has now been surrounded and contained.

Firefighters from Fenny Compton, Southam, Leamington and Stratford attended the incident.
