Unlocking a new vault for Southam gymnasts

YOUNG gymnasts in Southam will need an extra spring in their step after receiving a £750 grant this week.

The money from the Heart of England Community Foundation is for a new vaulting box.

It was presented from the foundation’s Kingscliffe Fund, money donated by an anonymous benefactor to help young people in the Southam area.

The club has also recently received grants for £428 from civic group Vision for Southam to pay for new equipment, on top of a £1,000 grant in January for new clothing.

Southam Gymnastics was founded in 1997 to enable local children to have greater access to gymnastic classes. Run by 20 volunteers and one part-time coach, it has 90 members aged between four and eighteen.
