Ugandan orphans enjoy first cinema experience

UGANDAN orphans enjoyed their first experience of seeing a film on the big screen at the Apollo Cinema in Leamington last week.

The cinema in Portland Place hosted members of the Children of Destiny Africa choir, which was set up by a UK/Ugandan charity to support orphans and those with traumatic childhood experiences as a result of wars, poverty or disease.

Sponsorship from the venue and others meant the youngsters, many of whom had never before been to the cinema, were able to watch Arthur Christmas 3D and tuck into popcorn and drinks.

The choir is currently touring the UK.
