Thieves steal charm bracelet and Christmas cards from car

A THIEF stole Christmas cards and a purse from a car parked at Ufton Fields nature reserve near Harbury on Monday.

The owners of the green Vauxhall Astra Merit hatchback returned to find the driver’s side window smashed with the concrete block that had been used lying on the passenger seat of the car.

The thief or thieves had stolen Christmas cards ready to be posted and a purse that had been lying underneath them.

The purse contained cash, bank cards and charms from a charm bracelet that were of sentimental value.

The crime took place between 1pm and 2pm. The car was parked near the exit of the car park.

A Warwickshire Police spokeswoman advised motorists not to leave anything that might be of value on view, no matter where they were parked. She added that it was vital not to leave bags, wallets, purses, CDs, satellite navigation devices or Christmas gifts or cards in cars.
