Swimathon day is almost here

TEENAGE swimming ‘angels’ are among more than 20 teams who are taking to the water to help a south Warwickshire group raise funds for charity.

The Long Itchington Angel Fish, made up of 15 to 19-year-old girls from the village, are keen entrants in the Soroptimists’ Swimathon and have entered the annual event for many years.

The event, in its 15th year, is organised by the Leamington and Warwick and Kenilworth branches of Soroptimist International and will take place on Sunday at Warwick School.

To date the swimathon has raised more than £140,000 for local charities. The Myton Hospices and the Leamington branch of Parkinson’s UK will share the sponsorship raised by swimmers this year.
