Stag earns Michelin entry

GENEROUS portions, ‘classical’ dishes and a contemporary feel have won a Warwickshire country pub a place in next year’s Michelin pub guid

The Stag at Offchurch is featured in the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide 2012, which praises the 16th century thatched pub’s “surprisingly contemporary” decoration, extensive menu and “generous, classical” dishes

The award was relaunched in 2009 by Raymond Blanc protegés Nigel Brown and Charles Harris.

Mr Brown, the pub’s executive chef, said: “The guide only features pubs which are really special, so we’re absolutely thrilled to be recognised by Michelin so soon.

“This has only been achieved with the help of a hardworking and committed team under the leadership of general manager Lizzie King and our thanks particularly go to them and our customers for their support.”
