Smiles on GCSE exam results day

CAMPION School pupils were among those celebrating when they received their GCSE results yesterday.

The year 11 pupils recorded the best ever performance by a year group at the school by a considerable margin.

Overall 52 per cent of the pupils achieved at least five grades from A* to C including English and Maths, an increase from the previous best of 40 per cent in 2010.

All of them gained at least five A* to C grades in any subject.

Headteacher Mark Feldman said: “Campion continues to make great progress.

“Examination results have improved every year and we are confident about the future.”

Warwick School’s GCSE results brought considerable joy to the 127 pupils who sat the exams, with 100 per cent gaining five or more GCSE passes.

Overall, 94 per cent gained grades from A* to B , 26 boys gained 100 per cent A* or A grades and 16 achieved nine or more A*s while Eugenio Cappuccio, Chris Marshall, Lawrence Parkin and Ian Simester each gained 12 A* grades.

Year 11 pupils at Southam College celebrated record results with 76 per cent gaining at least five A* to C grades including English and maths and 92 per cent achieving at least five A* to C grades.

At Aylesford School 58 per cent of students gained five or grades from more A* to C including English and Maths and 86 per cent gained five or more A* to C grades overall. For more on the GCSE results see next week’s Courier.
