Sir Anthony's talk at Dunchurch school focused on happiness

One of the country's most high profile commentators on education has shared his thoughts on happiness, wellbeing and mindfulness with pupils at a Dunchurch school.

Sir Anthony Seldon, vice chancellor of the University of Buckingham and former master of Wellington College, delivered the second Bilton Lecture at Bilton Grange Prep School to a packed audience of pupils, teachers, parents and others from the community.

Sir Anthony encouraged his audience to take a growth mindset, focus on the changes that they can make and to take personal responsibility for their happiness.

He also said he was impressed by the happiness and engagement of the Bilton Grange pupils.

The school’s headmaster Alex Osiatynski said: “It was a real pleasure to hear Sir Anthony speak. His views that happy children become successful children mesh entirely with the philosophy of Bilton Grange.”

Sir Anthony is known for being a passionate exponent for the teaching of happiness and well-being and the development of the “all-round” child. He appears regularly on television, radio and in the press and writes for several national newspapers. His views on education have frequently been sought by the government and political parties.

As well as a political historian, he is also a commentator on British political leadership and education.
