Santa Dash raises thousands for Myton Hospices

More than 400 Santas took to the paths of St Nicholas Park in Warwick to raise more than £14,600 for The Myton Hospices.

The charity’s Santa Dash started at the Myton Lane hospice where participants changed into their festive outfits and enjoyed a warm up led by British Military Fitness.

They then headed off on the 5km route from the hospice and around St Nicholas Park before crossing the finish line back at Myton.

Myton’s challenge events coordinator Beth Nicholson said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along on Sunday.

It was a fantastic morning and we were thrilled to see so many people taking part this year - all that’s left now is for runners to collect in their sponsorship money and send it in to us. We would also like to say a special thank you to all of the volunteers who came along to help on the day and to Rhead Group for sponsoring the event. We’re looking forward to doing it all again next year.”

Among the runners was Warwick Page 3 Girl Lucy Vixen who raised £1,180 in memory of her Grandad who spent his final days at Myton.
