Runners’ donation helps cancer ward

CANCER services at Warwick Hospital have been able to improve, thanks to the active efforts of staff at a Warwick firm.

Russell Ray, David Upstone and Marc Kilgallen, of Baxi Heating UK in Warwick, raised £1,598 for the hospital’s Aylesford Unit, which provides services for cancer patients, by running the Regency Run in Leamington and Two Castles Run between Warwick and Kenilworth Castles last year.

The sum has been used to buy a new blood pressure machine for the unit.

Nurse consultant Carole Connor said: “We would all like to thank Russell, David and Marc for their generous donation.

“The new machine will provide more resources for our patients, thus improving patient care.”
