Pupils celebrate GCSE results

Aylesford School in Warwick achieved a great set of results, with all pupils attaining at least five A* to G grades, and 69 per cent of pupils earning at least five A* to C grades.

Top performers include Megan Hearn who obtained ten A*s and one A, Ellie Bradbury, who received eight A*s and three A grades, Kim Richards with her two A*s and nine As, and Anil Rafiq who got one A* and ten A grades.

Headmaster Steve Hall said: “We are once again delighted for our students as they celebrate their achievements.

“Our youngsters are very deserving of these outcomes.”

Southam College’s results were once again excellent, with 81 per cent of pupils earning five A* to C grades including English and Maths.

Sophie Green received eleven A*s, and both Charlie Straw and Marlene Kidd earned eight A* and three A grades.

Ranjit Samra, the school’s headteacher, said: “All students, staff and parents should be incredibly proud of their achievements, not only the high grades achieved but also the fantastic progress that they have made.”

All of Kenilworth School’s pupils achieved at least five passes at A* to G, with 14 per cent of results graded at A*.

Pupils Katrina Bennett and Albany Summers managed to achieve 23 A* grades between them.

Headteacher Hayden Abbott said: “I want to thank everyone at the school and congratulate the pupils for their achievements.

“We wish them well in the future.”

North Leamington School posted the best results in the school’s history, with 74 per cent of pupils getting at least five A* to C grades with English and Maths.

Scarlett Whelan and Jeevan Sanghera both received nine A*s, while Maya Sandhu, Adam Reade and Jennifer Tyler all got six A* grades.

Headteacher Joy Mitchell said: “I am absolutely delighted with our results this year.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students, staff, parents and carers for their hard work, support and commitment to making this year a success.”

67 per cent of Campion School’s pupils achieved 5 passes at A* to C with English and Maths, an increase of nine per cent from last year.

Notable achievers included Amber Kwasnik, Ellie Inskip, Mia Holland, Gurpreet Dhaliwal, Taminder Uppal and Anmolpreet Sangha, who all received a string of A* and A grades.

Headteacher Mark Feldman, who retired at the end of the summer term, said “I am so proud of our students.

“Very well done to them and thanks to their parents for their great support.”

Myton School’s pupils also achieved highly.

Gabe Hunt obtained 11 A*s and one A, and Jonathan Rutherford, Sophia Medeiros, Timothy Cooper and Sam Wood all achieved nine A* grades.

Headteacher Paul MacIntyre said: “I would like to congratulate the students, their teachers and supportive parents and carers on working together to achieve such exceptional results and to make our students’ ambitious dreams come true.

“It was wonderful to see so many happy faces this morning as the students collected their results.”

Pupils at Kineton High School achieved a great set of results, with over 60 per cent achieving at least five A* to C grades with English and Maths.

Outstanding pupils included Jessie Cherry, Chloe Hill, Mathew Jolly, Rebecca Smith, Will Smith and Barnes Battison, who all achieved several A* and A grades.

A third of grades achieved by Princethorpe College’s pupils were graded at A* or A, with 14 pupils achieving at least ten A* or A grades.

Alana Eckland did particularly well, achieving 13 A* grades.

Headmaster Ed Hester said: “It is marvellous to be able to celebrate such success and all credit goes to the pupils and staff for their hard work.”

Pupils at Trinity Catholic School were praised by their prinicpal, Chris Gabbett.

He said: “There are many exceptional GCSE results here - all heartening evidence of the high academic bar set by teachers and students.

“There are also many results that represent exceptional progress for specific individuals.

“As always, I like to remind all of our brilliant young people that these grades - whatever they are - will never be the full measure of who they are!”

Girls at The Kingsley School in Leamington achieved an excellent set of results, with all achieving at least five A* to C grades.

High achievers included Lily Holbrook, who earned 12 A* to A grades Jess Harper-Radley and Alice Meixner, who both achieved 11 A* to A grades.

Headteacher Heather Owens said: “I am thrilled for the all the girls who have achieved their personal best today.

“Such excellence comes not only from sustained effort, but also from the can-do attitude and the zest for life which makes the Kingsley girls such a joy to work with.”

King’s High School in Warwick surpassed their 2014 results with 98.4 per cent of pupils achieving five A* to C grades.

68.1 per cent of papers were graded at either A* or A.

Lily Bamber, Jintong Du, Lucy Evans and Georgia Tolliday all received ten A*s.

Headmistress Elizabeth Surber said: ““I am delighted that the hard work and commitment of our girls and the dedication of their teachers is reflected in these excellent results.

“It is essential to us that each girl flourishes, working to realise her individual potential, and this is what we have seen our girls accomplish in their GCSE results this year.”

Warwick School’s pupils achieved outstanding results, with 46 per cent of all results graded at A*.

William Burton, Lewis Days, Harry Jenkins and Oliver Layzell all achieved 11 A* grades.

Headmaster Gus Lock said: “Our students, their parents and teachers deserve very wholehearted congratulations this morning.

“These are exceptional results by any standards and, by some way, our best ever in terms of A* grades.

“This is a real testament to incredible hard work and commitment from our pupils over the last two years.”
