Police find three cannabis farms in Leamington

CANNABIS farms have been found at three addresses in Leamington.

Police officers were called to a house in Masters Road on Thursday November 22 after receiving information that the property may be being used as a cannabis farm. The property was empty, but all four bedrooms had been cleared and converted to growing rooms. The growers were in the process of clearing the property as all lights and convertors had been removed, but three large bags of cannabis stalks were recovered.

Officers also executed a warrant at an address in Llewellyn Road, last Wednesday at 11.15am, following an anonymous tip-off that there may be drugs at the address. The property was searched and around 40 large cannabis plants were recovered from the loft and garage, as well as a number of juvenile cannabis plants from the garage. A small amount of herbal cannabis and cash was also recovered from the kitchen.

An extensive cannabis factory was then found later that evening at another address in Llewlyn Road, when officers were responding to a suspected burglary at around 7.40pm.

When officers arrived to meet the landlord at the unoccupied property, they discovered there had not been a break-in but there was a full scale cannabis factory at the address.

Hundreds of plants and equipment were found throughout the three-storey building. Due to the time of the night a guard was placed on the property overnight and the plants were seized the next day.

The electricity board were also alerted and disconnected the power supply to the house.
