Police officers, search dogs and a police helicopter have been sent out to look for Mr Twissell but so far he has not been found.

He has been described as a white man, 5ft 2ins tall with grey hair and wearing glasses.

It is believed that he was last seen he wearing a light blue jacket, black trousers and white trainers and he was also carrying a Chelsea FC bag.

Mr Twissell is known to like gardens so part of the search has focused on those within the Stratford area. He does not walk fast and tires easily so he is believed to still be in the local area.

Police Inspector Steve Beard said: “The search for Mr Twissell has continued overnight and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare, especially as he is not dressed to cope with the current weather conditions.

“I would appeal to members of the public to be on the look-out for him, and for householders to check their gardens to see if he has wandered in there to take rest, and to report any sightings to the police immediately. He is a very vulnerable man and we need to find him as soon as possible.”

Anyone who sees Mr Twissell or has any information about his whereabouts should call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident 106 of 8 November.
