Police appeal for witnesses after assault leaves man in hospital

Police were called to St Peter’s Road at around 1.50am where the man had received serious head injuries.

The man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, Coventry where he was put in intensive care.

It is believed the man had been in Rio’s night club in Bedford Street shortly before the attack.

A 41-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
