“Engaging with residents and people who run businesses in a community setting like this is a vital part of our ongoing preventative work to reduce fire-related incidents and keep people safe.

“We’ll also be taking the opportunity to remind people how to celebrate safely, with Halloween and bonfire night just around the corner.”

County councillor John Horner, responsbile for policy on community safety across the county, said: “This is an excellent way for people to meet their local firefighters and find out how they can reduce the risk of fire in the home. We hope lots of people will take the opportunity to chat to the crews while they’re doing their shopping.”
