A barber in Warwick is raising money for charity by hiring out his equipment.

As the current pandemic continues and Barber Shops remain closed, many people are trying their own at home cuts.

The increased demand for clippers and equipment has led to many retailers running low on stock or prices increasing.

Darren Birch of Hair for Men felt that he could support his customers by providing his equipment for hire to help with the DIY cuts.

He said: “Though we wish we could have clients back in our chairs, it is not currently safe to do so.

"By hiring our kits to clients they access professional equipment without huge costs.”

Darren said that each set is thoroughly sanitised between each use and collected with social distancing measures in place.

There is a £12 donation to borrow the kit which will be donated to a local charity post lockdown.

The group campaigns for the awareness of mental well-being and suicide prevention as well, believing that the barbershop is a great, safe place for men to talk.

Darren said: “Mental health is an extremely important issue.

"I worked on a mental health triage car whilst in the police force, which I have now retired from as a PTSD sufferer.

"The combination of the personal and professional element enables me to see from both sides and support my clients.”
