Rugby's Cemex tower will light up at 8pm this evening, April 9, with a special animation.

The display has been arranged so it coincides with the third week of the 'clap for carers' campaign - which sees the public stand at their front doors or windows at 8pm every Thursday to clap for the NHS and other key workers.

A spokesperson for Cemex said: "We hope that people nearby will be able to see it from their homes as they continue to isolate in line with the government lockdown."

The spokesperson added that Cemex will send pictures to the Advertiser after the event so those who cannot see the tower from their home still get a chance to see the display.
