A new BMW centre will kick-start a multi-million pound development near Warwick, which also includes a hotel, a stadium, homes and schools.
Rybrook BMW have secured a new four-acre site on the new Gallows Hill development with help from Opus Land.
The site, which is located next to the Warwick Technology Park, has been purchased from Warwick District Council and has already been granted planning permission.
Opus Land will be carrying out the development of the site on behalf of Rybrook BMW, which is part of a much larger community development project of a hotel, community stadium, athletics track, new schools, community and neighbourhood centre, new park and more than 1,100 homes as well as extensive highway and footpath/cycling improvements.
The plans for the new Rybrook Warwick BMW Centre, which is relocating from its current Heathcote Lane dealership to this new 'super site', include a brand new state-of-the-art workshop with increased MOT and servicing facilities, office space, staff facilities, spacious indoor showroom facilities to showcase the latest BMW products, extensive outdoor car display area and customer parking.
This deal brings Rybrook’s total investment into the district to around £13million.
Construction is due to complete January 2022.
Cllr Richard Hales, Warwick District Council’s portfolio holder for business and finance, said: “We are delighted to see this development being kick-started bringing more investment and jobs to the District and playing an enabling role for the wider development project planned for this area of Warwick.
"This has once again demonstrated the District Council’s continued commitment to supporting the local community and economy in these challenging times.”
Chris Page, group property director at Rybrook, said: “Following the continued growth of the Rybrook BMW Warwick business we have been looking for the right opportunity to relocate to a new purpose-built facility, to best serve our BMW customers in the Warwickshire area.
"Understanding of our future business needs is key to this project and by working with our long-standing partner Opus Land we have been able to secure the right location and work with a trusted partner to ensure the development fulfils all our requirements.”
Richard Smith, joint managing director at Opus Land, added: “Following a long-standing relationship with Rybrook going back many years, I am delighted that Opus Land are now developing their new BMW dealership.”
