Historic walking tours returning to Warwick and Leamington

Historic walking tours will be returning to Warwick and Leamington as of next week.

Guide Paula Fletcher will be bringing back her tours, which she has been running in both towns for seven years.

Attendees will be able to see some of the town’s famous buildings while being told some of the town’s history.

Paula will be restarting her 90-minute private walking tours on July 25. Tours are offered seven days a week and must be pre-booked a minimum of 24 hours in advance via her website.

Tours will be limited to a maximum of six people so social distancing can be observed and masks will be necessary to enter buildings.

Paula said: "The pandemic and lockdown meant that all my tours have been cancelled including three large group tours that l was really looking forward to taking round Warwick.

"Group tours are such fun with so much energy.

"Large and small groups are always so interested in learning more about the history of both Warwick and Leamington.

"It’s been very disappointing, not only for me but for everyone whose business has come to a grinding halt during lockdown.

"I am fortunate that it just me and l don’t have staff to worry about.

"I feel great sympathy with people who are struggling to survive, keep their staff employed and can only now start hoping for the economy to recover.

"It’s great to be able to look forward to grabbing my name badge, clipboard and microphone and get back to showing people from all over the world our beautiful towns."
