The Simon Adams’ MNDA charity fund was set up several years ago after Simon, at the age of 46, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and decided to create a ‘bucket list’ of things he wanted to achieve.

One of these included a desire to raise £1 million towards motor neurone disease research and although he lost his battle in 2011, his fund now stands at more than £500,000.

The year’s event is focused on family entertainment with a 60s theme supported by a range of bands and artists, including an Elvis tribute artist and Beatles covers band Like the Beatles..

Free car parking is available and free transport to and from Southam town centre courtesy of Catteralls Coaches is available.

There are also plenty of activities for children.

The fun starts at 3.30pm and people can bring their own chairs and picnics (no glass) and a limited number of gazebo places are available for booking.

For more information, including how to purchase tickets from the website or at locations in the town, visit www.partyonthepitch.org.uk or the Southam RUFC website.

The event will also see the handing over of a cheque for £1,000 which was raised during a recent summer ball in memory of fund member Justin Newsome, who died last year.
