Town still plagued by ‘chuggers’
Am I wrong, or wasn’t there recent legislation passed (or perhaps only proposed) to ban charity “chuggers” from our main shopping streets, because unfortunately we are still plagued by them on the Parade in Leamington?
I speak as one who is by no means ‘anti-charity’ (I even work for one as a volunteer myself), but I hate the way these people make such a nuisance of themselves badgering the passing public to get their personal details and sign them up for a regular donation, and they won’t even allow you to make a ‘one-off’ donation.
The really sad thing is that many of them are very worthwhile causes, but as I said to one of them recently - “I love what you do, but I hate the way you do it”. Nuff said!
