‘They used the field as a toilet’

Having come back home after a walk with my dog around the Harbury Lane field, I have decided to write this letter.

What the travellers left behind them almost defies description. Apart from their usual rubbish dumped everywhere, including gas cylinders (at least 12 of them), they have used the whole field as a toilet, with paper and their excretement everywhere.

The pavilion is a complete mess with the damage they have done, as well as using it as a loo. Is the council going to sterilise the whole field?

They should be made to do this, at least for the health and safety of the children who regularly use the field for their games.

The majority of responsible dog owners clean up after themselves - this is the law for dogs. Is it the same law for human deposits?

These so-called ‘travellers’ may like their children to play in and around excrement, with all its health hazard. The rest of us don’t.

Not looking forward to seeing them again next time. - Freda Millar, Whitnash
