The council obviously heard my suggestion for bloom colours!

Last November The Courier published my letter of compliments to the council and it’s contractors in maintaining the large number of hanging baskets in the town centre but also criticising their annual choice of base colour – grey.

I said ‘may I appeal to those planning the 2012 display to ring the changes and dispense with the grey. Instead can we please have cheerier colours to brighten our days’.

Someone certainly took note because this years displays are lovely, cheery and very patriotic. Thank you so much.

Hopefully next year we will be surprised again by a different cheery-coloured theme. Keep up the good work. - Anne Piper, via email.
