Resent changes to town’s character

The local authority (in this case Warwickshire County Council Highways Department) seem intent on destroying the character of the town centre of Warwick by removing the old stone setts in the Market Place and replacing them with modern blocks of what looks like concrete. This sort of vandalism seems to keep occurring and is so out of character in the old Market Place.

As I live close by, I resent the changes being made to the character of Warwick centre - how can this be done without any consultation with the local residents/commercial premises?
