Recycling centre hours make no sense

Is it any wonder that fly tipping is on the increase? I have just visited the recycling centre at Princes Drive in Leamington to dispose of some rubbish too big for the bin, arriving at 3-24pm only to find that it closed at 3-15pm. The middle of the afternoon!

Consequently, for the normal working person, the only time it is accessible is at the weekend if you are prepared to queue. I appreciate that ‘winter hours’ have to operate due to limited daylight, but as I recall the opening time was until 4-30pm. Surely the county council could pay some of the operatives for an extra hour and fund the cost from the additional time and effort it takes to clean up the countryside where less responsible people dispose of their rubbish.

I must admit I too was tempted, but instead, as a responsible citizen, I will ask to leave work early ( I normally finish work at 3pm in Warwick) and do the right thing to avoid sitting in a queue at the weekend and wasting even more petrol. Common sense? - Bill Timson, Harbury
