Development study must be impartial

I note that Cllr Doody’s letter in Postbag last week implies no decisions have been made regarding housing development and all awaits an impartial study. This contradicts his comment on page 15 of the same edition in Robert Collins’ item!

There the councillor states: “Radford Semele needs protecting” therefore a decision has been made prior to public consultation and not impartially.

Radford Semele just happens to be the councillor’s home village. No surprise there then.

A few years ago, following a door-to-door housing needs survey, much needed low cost housing was planned for Radford Semele. Cllr Doody fought to stop the survey - and failed. However he did use his political power to stop the development. Radford Semele is a no go area whilst all other areas are not.

I see no logic in that but I do see a clash of interests that should be declared at any subsequent housing policy meetings. - Bernard Alsop, Napton.
