Closure threat having devastating effect

The Multiple Sclerosis Society’s decision to close the Helen Ley Respite Care Centre is having a devastating effect on so many people; staff and guests alike equally troubled about the future.

I am staying in Helen Ley at the moment. The staff, although facing stressful uncertainty, maintain their high standards of care, courtesy and respect for everyone. Visitors are quite amazed at the excellent quality of the facilities provided; comfortable private en-suite rooms, first class meals, numerous forms of therapy.

My fellow guests are all concerned too as respite care is vital to allow our carers to have a rest from their responsibilities. It is indeed a most unsettling time which the MS Society has brought on all who are associated with Helen Ley. - Jill Coutts, Rugby Road, Cubbington.
