All change for new train ticket prices

Chiltern Railways has finished a major period of line upgrade, so from Sunday a new timetable applies and prices change. The advance single tickets which can as cheap as £5 now seem to only be available on weekends, and £33 off-peak returns from Warwick (valid for one month) will increase to £50 (from Leamington they will cost £45 instead of £30).

However, the £25 super off-peak return will be available at an earlier time, allowing people to get to London by noon from Warwick or by 11.32 from Leamington.

An anytime return to London will be a cheaper £75 instead of £80 or £85, but it will still ‘pay’ those who need to arrive in London before 10.30am to travel to London in the evening for £25 and stay overnight in a £25 hostel (if hostels are your thing!). - Penny Wright, via email.
