Old Leamingtonians have raised £10,000 for charity in last six years

OLD Leamingtonians Rugby Club members have now raised £10,000 for charities and good causes over the last six years.

Proceeds from the raffle at the club’s Patrons Lunch last month brought the fundraising total up to this impressive figure.

Causes to have received donations include Cancer Research, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, Helen Ley Care Centre, Child Abuse Counselling and Help for Heroes.

The money has also been used to buy a special bicycle for a severely disabled child.

In addition, the club’s president and its secretary Mike and Sally Hemming and club captain Mark Foley donated £900 to Chris Haynes, a former OLs Colt who was paralysed in an accident while on holiday in Spain last year.

The club held a testimonial match to raise funds to help Chris’s rehabilitation.
