Muggers steal Joker iPhone

The criminals approached two men near the junction of Lillington Avenue and Kenilworth Road at 12.30am and at first asked for cigarettes.

But the thieves then began threatening the two men, and assaulted one man, stealing his iPhone after a struggle in which he suffered facial injuries and a nosebleed.

Both men were described as extremely shocked and shaken.

Police are appealing for witnesses who can help them identify the robbers.

One is described as white with short brown hair and around 6ft 3ins tall. The second is described as black, around 18 years old, approximately 5ft 5ins tall, of slim build with short black hair.

They were both wearing dark clothing or tracksuits and one of the men was carrying a plastic carrier bag.

The robbers left in the direction of Kenilworth.

CCTV operators assisted officers in their search of the area.

Police are also keen to trace the distinctive iPhone.
