Leamington teenager arrested following website post

A Leamington teenager has been arrested following a posting on a social networking website which may have been designed to encourage criminal disorder.

The 14-year-old boy was arrested this morning (Friday) under section 46 of the Serious Crime Act 2007 on suspicion of encouraging or assisting offences believing that one or more of them will be committed.

He was questioned by police officers and later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Det Insp Zaid Khan said: “Warwickshire Police regularly monitors social networking sites and anyone using them to incite criminal activity of any kind will be arrested and dealt with accordingly.”
