Huge fire at Weston-under-Wetherly landfill site
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at just before 7:30am alerting them to a huge plume of smoke in the direction of the village.
Initially, one fire engine was sent to investigate, but when it found the source of the smoke in the middle of the site, it was clear more manpower was needed to put out the large fire and two more engines were called for.

Hide AdCrews struggled to reach the fire to begin with because the fire was quite far from where their fire engines were parked, so extra lengths of hose reel had to be used.
The fire was mostly extinguished by Sunday lunchtime when crews began damping down the blaze.
