Two Leamington venues are inviting people to help raise funds for a homeless-support charity by booking their Christmas party with them.

The Pump Room and Jephson’s - which are both run by catering company Kudos - will donate a Christmas hamper to the Leamington charity Helping Hands for every party sold.

The Pump Room cafe is also collecting Christmas shoe boxes - which people are asked to wrap in Christmas wrapping paper and fill with toiletries, chocolate, socks, gloves and a small Christmas card - to pass on to the charity.

Kudos’ relationship and event maker Hannah Gill said: “I’m delighted that the Pump Room has offered to be a drop-off point for Christmas boxes to be passed on to the charity and we are really looking forward to working with them in the very near future.”

Lianne Kirkman, project coordinator at Helping Hands said: “We are really looking forward to working with the Pump Room and Jephson’s over the coming year. We are extremely grateful for their support to our charity.”

The Leamington charity Helping Hands receives referrals from agencies who come into contact with those in need - such as children’s centres, social services, schools, probation, churches and GPs - as well as self-referrals from individuals and families who are in need.

The charity then passes on donations of household goods, furniture, toiletries, clothing, toys and bedding to those who need such items. It also signposts people to other organisations that can help, such as food banks, citizens advice bureau and parenting skills courses.
