Whilst the family received early warning of the fire as they were in the property at the time the fire broke out, there were no smoke alarms in the house.

Firefighters have now carried out a home fire safety check, fitting smoke alarms and giving advice on how to reduce the chance of a fire in the home again.

Crews have also been to neighbouring properties to offer a free home fire safety checks.

Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel were in use.
