Hockey players give care centre a helping hand

Sporting students from Warwick University have been swapping their hockey sticks for paint brushes and rollers to give Leamington specialist care centre Castel Froma a makeover.

Players from the university’s Mixed Hockey Club have been taking turns to spruce up the residential care centre, which is nationally renowned for its work in providing long-term residential care for people with brain injuries and neurological conditions.

Robert Pearce, Castel Froma’s chief executive, said: “They have been fantastic and have done a tremendous job. We’re in a very old building with high ceilings, which can be difficult to reach, but these super young people have transformed the place.

“Voluntary help like this keeps costs down elsewhere and is much appreciated.”
